Now in Peterborough, NH!

I would like to thank you for being a valued member of GFA Federal Credit Union. Earlier this year, it was announced that GFA Federal Credit Union and Monadock Community Bank (Peterborough, NH) had entered into an agreement in which GFA would acquire the bank. This is the first bank acquisition for GFA and if approved, the first such acquisition nationally by a credit union of a stock savings bank. On December 28, 2012, all regulatory approvals were met for the Purchase and Assumption of Monadnock Community Bank by GFA Federal Credit Union, adding a ninth location at 1 Jaffrey Road in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

The Monadnock office will become a GFA branch and GFA will serve customers through a network of nine full-service branches, seven in north central Massachusetts and two in New Hampshire, with combined assets of approximately $429 million and deposits of approximately $318.3 million. In addition, GFA will soon be relocating from Fitchburg to a new, convenient location in Leominster, MA across from the Twin City Plaza.

As part of this new phase for GFA and its members, the credit union is developing a new marketing look and using rebranding messages to communicate the advantages of belonging to GFA which will still deliver the member-owner advantages of a credit union. As a matter of fact, Monadnock Community Bank started as a credit union before it transitioned to a community bank.

We want you and all our members to feel good about banking with us. Our 'Feel Better at GFA' rebranding will focus on the value of belonging to a credit union and banking with us. As a credit union, we are able to offer lower fees and better rates because of our cooperative structure as member-owned. As a GFA member, your membership means ownership. You have a voice and can be assured that GFA is always looking out for your best interests.

Our rebranding message invites members to 'Get better at GFA'. Get better value, better service … better banking.

All of your account information will remain the same. Nothing will change except you will have access to one more GFA New Hampshire location.
