Your Guide to a New and Improved Online Banking Experience

At GFA Federal Credit Union, we strive to deliver superior products and services to our members. You have been asking for improvements to both our Online Banking and Bill Pay products and we’ve been listening. In keeping with your requests, on June 17th you will be introduced to a new improved online banking experience. A few exciting new features include Real-Time Alerts, secure online messaging, Direct Connect to Quicken® and QuickBooks® and a new self-service center.

Read important information about:

  • Online Banking Upgrade

    Prior to the upgrade:

    In our effort to deliver the best available online banking experience, there are upgrade preparations that may apply to you. Key dates and changes are specified by service noted below.

    • Online Banking will not be accessible between June 16th until midafternoon of June 17th, services will resume once implementation testing has been completed.
    • If you are an Online Bill Pay and/or eBills user there are steps needed for upgrade preparation prior to June 13, 2014.
    • If you utilize the Transfers feature within Online Banking there are steps needed for upgrade preparation prior to June 13, 2014.
    • FinanceWorks™ – If you are a FinanceWorks™ user, there will be a different Personal Finance Manager system after the upgrade. Reference complete details prior to June 13th.
    • Quicken® – If you are a Quicken® or Quickbooks® user an optional upgrade will be available starting June 17th.
    • Remote Deposit Capture – Will not be available after 5pm on June 13th through midafternoon on June 17th.

    During the upgrade:

    On Monday, June 16th we will disable Online Banking while we make the necessary upgrades. Service will resume midafternoon on Tuesday, June 17th once all testing and validation has been completed. Please plan to do your online banking and schedule any Bill Payments on or before June 13th. During the upgrade, you will still have access to your accounts through GFA Mobile Banking, 24/7 Telephone Banking – toll free at 1-800-955-6609, Debit/ATM cards and all GFA branches.

    

    After the upgrade:

    You can log in to your new Online Banking system midafternoon on June 17th. In order to minimize member impact, your current username will remain the same. Your initial password will be provided at log-in. You will then be prompted to establish a new password and select an image site key. Note: Your initial password will also be provided in your current Online Banking account prior to the upgrade.

    Online Banking will be your virtual branch. The new system will be easier to navigate and manage with better features such as:

    • Enhanced Security – Easier authentication for user access.
    • More Features – Establish Real-Time Alerts, view pending transactions, utilize secure online messaging with a Member Resource Representative and Direct Connect to Quicken® and Quickbooks® offer more convenience.
    • GFA Transfers – Make transfers to Person-to-Person, Bank-to-Bank, and other GFA member accounts. External transfer capability will continue.
    • Robust Online Banking for Business – If your business utilizes Online Banking and requires secondary users, you will now be able to designate permissions that are customized to individual job responsibilities.

    As a reminder, ALL GFA Locations, ATMs and DEBIT CARDS will be operating as usual. Mobile Banking and our 24/7 Telephone Banking – toll free at 1-800-955-6609 – will be available.

  • Online Bill Pay & eBills Upgrade

    If you currently utilize our Bill Pay service, you are really going to enjoy some of the changes that are part of our new system. If you haven’t taken the opportunity to use GFA’s Bill Pay before, June 17th is the perfect time to enroll – and it is still FREE for all members!

    

    Prior to the upgrade:

    • Please note eBills Service will be disabled on June 9, 2014. Members will need to reference their monthly bills via email and standard mail as arranged per each vendor.
    • Schedule your Bill Payments before June 13, 2014. Members will not be able to access or schedule a new bill payment between June 13th through June 17th. All bill payments will be paid as scheduled during the upgrade.
    • If you desire to retain your Bill Payment History, download your Bill Payment History on or before June 13, 2014. Payment history will not carry over. Note: payees and recurring/automatic bill payments will carry over post upgrade.

    During the upgrade:

    On Monday, June 16th until midafternoon on Tuesday, June 17th, Online Banking will be disabled. You won’t be able to pay or schedule a bill during that time. However, any previously scheduled and/or recurring bills will be paid as expected. Your eBills service will be disabled on June 9, 2014. You will need to register your eBills after the upgrade.

    To download your Bill Payment History:

    • Go to Bill Pay
    • Click View Payment
    • Select download – your file will download in Excel format
    • Save your file onto your computer

    After the upgrade:

    In the afternoon of June 17th, you can access the upgraded Online Bill Pay system. Payees and Scheduled Auto Payments will convert. After the upgrade, midafternoon on June 17th, you will be able to:

    • Establish eBills
    • Confirm your Bill Pay schedule is accurate.
    • If you have multiple checking accounts, verify bill payments are being funded by the correct checking account.

    The enhanced Bill Pay and eBill features will offer:

    • Deliver by Scheduling – Schedule recurring payments and choose the date you want your payment to arrive.
    • Payments Review Page – Review, edit and expedite your payments on one page.

    As a reminder, ALL GFA Locations, ATMs and DEBIT CARDS will be operating as usual. Mobile Banking and our 24/7 Telephone Banking – toll free at 1-800-955-6609 – will be available.

  • Online Transfers Upgrade

    Prior to the upgrade:

    If you utilize the following services in Online Banking be certain to do the following on or before June 13, 2014.

    • Document your Recurring/Scheduled Transfers. These will not carry over and will need to be re-established post upgrade.

    During the upgrade:

    The Recurring/Scheduled Transfers service will not be accessible from June 13th through midafternoon June 17th. Note: Recurring transfers scheduled for June 13th through June 17th will not be processed. You will need to re-establish all recurring/scheduled transfers post upgrade

    After the upgrade:

    You can log into your new Online Banking system midafternoon on June 17th.

    You will want to:

    • Establish your recurring/scheduled transfers.

    The enhanced features will offer:

    • Enhanced Transfers – Make transfers to other GFA member accounts and transfers to other bank/credit union (non-GFA) accounts.
    • Deliver by Scheduling – Schedule recurring transfers and choose the date you want your transfers to arrive.

    As a reminder, ALL GFA Locations, ATMs and DEBIT CARDS will be operating as usual. Mobile Banking and our 24/7 Telephone Banking – toll free at 1-800-955-6609 – will be available.

  • FinanceWorksTM - Personal Finance Manager

    Please be advised that with the Online Banking Upgrade, FinanceWorks™ will be replaced by an enhanced Personal Finance Manager tool, Manage My Money that includes:

    • Real-Time Alerts to help you manage your spending and balances.
    • Pending Transactions that will allow you to view direct deposits, debit card transactions and automated payments that have not yet been posted to your account.
    • New Budgeting Tools to help you schedule savings for a dream vacation or that next big purchase!

    Please note that the existing FinanceWorks™ tool will not be included after the upgrade. You may want to download your transaction activity on or before June 13, 2014.

    Prior to the upgrade:

    If you are a FinanceWorks™ user, you have the option to download your transaction activity by June 13, 2014. To download:

    • Launch FinanceWorks™
    • Choose transactions
    • Choose desired time frame to download
    • Select download – your file will download in Excel format
    • Save your file onto your computer

    During the upgrade:

    On Monday, June 16th we will disable Online Banking while we make the necessary upgrades. Service will resume midafternoon on Tuesday, June 17th once all testing and validation has been completed. During the upgrade, you will still have access to your accounts through GFA Mobile Banking, 24/7 Telephone Banking – toll free at 1-800-955-6609, Debit/ATM cards and all GFA branches.

    After the upgrade:

    You will be able to establish budget tracking to fit your customized financial needs in the new Personal Finance Manager.

  • Quicken® & Quickbooks® / Remote Deposit Capture

    Quicken® & Quickbooks® Direct Connect:

    Great news! As you have requested, our Quicken® & Quickbooks® access is Better!

    If you are a web-connect Quicken® or Quickbooks® user, an optional upgrade to Direct Connect will be provided to you at log-in.

    If you are interested in using Quicken® or Quickbooks®, GFA's upgraded Online Banking platform will provide web-connect and Direct Connect integration.

    Remote Deposit Capture:

    Remote Deposit Capture will not be available during the upgrade from 5pm on June 13th to midafternoon on June 17th. Should you desire to make a remote deposit, you can do so through June 13, 2014 at 5pm.
